Due to English is an international language that is used by the majority countries in communications, business, education, diplomacy, technology, and international organizations. Many countries agree to use English as a global language (Graddol,2006). There are more people using English than other languages to be the center of communication around the world. Therefore, developing English speaking ability is very important and as an EFL learner, developing English speaking ability might be one of the most difficult thing to achieve. Not to mention those problems that might occur since EFL learners not in the “area” of English speakers. Even in the class, oral language in the classroom mostly used by the teacher rather than the students. while we are aware of “language is spoken” sometimes EFL learners find it difficult to rehearse by themself. Either the condition (the people around) doesn’t persuade them to speak English or they are not confident enough with their ability. Those kind of problems still being the top list of the difficulty in developing English speaking ability for EFL learners such as area and the lack of practice.
For EFL learners, learning English to be able to speak is the necessity in facing the global challenge in which every of them should be able to communicate fluently (Graddol,2006). Every learners for the countries not using English should learn more diligently and harder than those in the coutries using English. EFL learners such Indonesian students have the same problem while they are learning to speak. The poverty of vocabularies, the seldomness of practice, and no routine practice among them in regular activity are the main problems they undergo. This condition causes them dificult to develop their skill in English speaking as the goal to develop the communicating ability.
